200 Subscribers in Just 3 Weeks! Thank You for Supporting Mike O’Neill Trains!
What an Incredible Start!
I’m excited to share a milestone for my new YouTube channel, Mike O’Neill Trains. In just three weeks since launching the channel, we’ve reached 200 subscribers!
When I started this channel, my goal was simple: share my passion for railroads, model railroading, railroad operations, and the experiences I’ve collected over the years.
I hoped other railroad enthusiasts would enjoy the videos, but reaching 200 subscribers in such a short time has been a wonderful surprise.
To everyone who has subscribed, watched a video, left a comment, or shared the channel with someone else — thank you!
Your support means a great deal to me.
Sharing a Lifetime of Railroad Experiences
One of the things I enjoy most about this channel is the opportunity to share railroad experiences from both the past and present.
From steam locomotives climbing steep mountain grades to modern freight trains and passenger operations, I’ve accumulated a collection of railroad photographs and videos that I’m excited to share.
Some of the channel’s content includes:
- Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad — Historic steam locomotives, spectacular mountain scenery, and the unforgettable experience of climbing 4% grades.
- Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad — Steam locomotive chases and adventures through the Colorado mountains.
- BNSF Railway — Freight trains, coal operations, and railroad dispatching.
- Amtrak and Metrolink — Passenger train action, including footage from Fullerton, California.
- HO Scale Model Railroading — Building and operating my own model railroad.
It’s been especially enjoyable revisiting older railroad footage and bringing those memories to life for a new audience.
Helping Model Railroaders Learn JMRI OperationsPro
Another important part of Mike O’Neill Trains is sharing educational content about JMRI OperationsPro.
I enjoy helping model railroaders understand how to use the software to create realistic operating sessions, manage freight car movements, build trains, and organize railroad operations.
My tutorials focus on practical examples and step-by-step demonstrations, covering both basic and advanced OperationsPro features.
I’m also working on a structured eight-episode JMRI OperationsPro training series that will guide viewers through building a fictional railroad database and eventually operating trains.
I hope these tutorials become a valuable resource for model railroaders who want to take their operations to the next level.
There’s Much More to Come!
Reaching 200 subscribers is just the beginning.
I have plenty of railroad footage still to share, additional JMRI OperationsPro tutorials in development, and more model railroad projects underway.
You can expect a continuing mix of railroad adventures, educational videos, YouTube Shorts, model railroad construction, and railroad dispatching demonstrations.
One of my goals is to keep the channel interesting for people who enjoy real railroads as well as those who enjoy recreating railroad operations in miniature.
Help Us Reach the Next Milestone!
200 subscribers in three weeks is an exciting beginning, and I’m looking forward to seeing where the channel goes next.
